Photography is not what I do, it's who I am
Thank you for your interest in my photography and much loved business I have worked at and nurtured since a very young woman.
My entire career has been immersed in this magical craft.
I’ve studied photography, obtained my Diploma in Commercial Photography, worked in labs, a couple of studios and been in business for over 20 years.
Hundreds and hundreds of family shoots and weddings, some cool exhibitions and nice awards. Film, darkrooms and now digital and computers.
I’ve been gifted with a talent which I have harnessed and grown, it's been my journey, straight from school.
In 2011, I became a Master Photographer which was, a pretty special moment in my life.
I'm also a long standing Accredited Member of the AIPP ( Australian Institute of Professional Photography ) which is an elite body of professionals to be a part of.
My Dad built me my first darkroom, a third of his shed when I was 16 ( although I did try to negotiate for half the shed haha )
I’d be described as down to earth, warm, humble, kind and honest. I care deeply about my work and the people who become my clients and often my friends.
I live with my gorgeous Golden Retriever, Lola and my snobby cat, Sushi in my old, character home. A stone building on my property has been converted to my studio and it’s rustic and charming.
My decision to move out of the city, return to my roots, the Hills and embrace a tree change has been one of the best things I've ever done.
I thrive on simple things ~ my animals, my home, family, big walks, hiking, bike riding, dinners with friends, movies, vintage furniture, reading, antique shopping, road trips and most recently discovering a love for gardening.
I have photographed the love stories of so many gorgeous couples, over many years, as they said I do. What a privilege that has been. I have shot close to 1000 weddings.
However, it's time for change. I've recently made a heartfelt decision and am no longer booking Weddings.
I am booked to my capacity with Weddings until the end of 2021, I will not be shooting them from 2022.
My focus will be entirely my Family and Portrait work.
This is where it all began for me, at 24 years old I ran the Family Photography section of a big studio in Adelaide for several years.
Over the next 12 months I am amping up my Family work and building a bigger Studio amongst the sweeping gums on my property in Strathalbyn. My existing studio, while charming and gorgeous is too small for all I want to do. This is my life long dream.
I have many exciting ideas and plans for my Family and Portrait work.
I'd love you to follow along.
Kindest, Kerin x
